The
ruggedised LiDAR base unit can be fitted to a variety of platforms,
including aircraft, ships and vehicles - or it can be installed into
a fixed installation. The housing can be fitted with additional
fixing points if required.
Most
recently, a LiDAR unit owned and operated by Leeds University, was
fitted to a NOAA aircraft. The system was operated by NOAA personnel
during the summer of 2010. More details on request.
The wedge scanning system fitted to the NOAA research aircraft used in the
CALNEX experiment, summer 2010. The antenna was fixed to be
downward-looking during the 2009 experiment.
